1) How far is the camp from Los Angeles?
The camp is approximately 2 hours away in the city of Angelus
Oaks.
2) Are there any supply stores close to the camp?
There is a supply store about 15 minutes from the camp.
3) Is the camp close to Big Bear City?
Yes, the camp is about ½ hour from Big Bear in the
San Bernadino Mountains.
4) What kind of lodging will I be provided?
The camp has cabins with 12 bunk beds in each.
5) Will the lodging be segregated by gender or by families?
The cabins will be segregated by gender. The brothers will
have their own group of cabins and the sisters will have their own
cabins as well.
6) Will the speaker be staying at the camp?
Yes, inshallah.
7) How much does the camp cost?
The cost of the camp is $90 per person (children under
4 years – free). Children between 4-12 $80 per child.
Children under 4 share a bed with a parent.
8) What methods can I use to make payments?
You can either make payments using cash at Masjid ul Mumin
(Please see either brother Abdul-Malik or sister Fathima) or via
Paypal (Please email)
9) Do kids have to pay full price as well?
There is no charge for kids 4 years and younger. Children between 4-12 $80 per child.
Children under 4 are free and must share a bed with a parent.
10) Are all the meals included in the price?
Yes, inshallah all 3 meals per day will be provided. There
will also be tea and coffee available throughout the day, inshallah.
11) When can I arrive at the camp on Friday, June 13th?
You can arrive at the camp after 3.00 p.m.
12) What should I bring with me to the camp?
Everyone should bring the following:
• Sleeping bag or blankets and pillows since there is no bedding
provided in the cabins.
• Towels and Toiletries (Soaps, Shampoos etc..)
• Toothbrush and Toothpaste.
• Running or walking shoes since flip flops (slippers) cannot
be used when walking around the camp.
• Enough Clothes for 3 days. Bring a sweater or jacket in
case the nights are cold.
• Laundry bag for dirty clothes.
• Notebooks, Pencils and Pens for taking notes during lectures.
• Swimwear for kids and adults who wish to use the pool.
• Insect repellent (Deet is best) – (Optional)
• Flashlight (Optional)
• Enthusiasm to learn the Deen of Allah (subhana wa ta’alaa)

Please do NOT bring any food or candy as there is wildlife in the
area and they will be attracted to the camp if it’s not properly
disposed.
13) Is there cell phone service at the camp and in the surrounding
area?
There is cell phone coverage only for those who have service
with Verizon. All other service providers do not have coverage in
the area.
14) Is there internet access at the camp?
There is no internet access at the camp.
15) Will there be any other activities other than the lectures?
This event is for the brother and sisters to learn from
the Ulama in a relaxed
atmosphere. There are other activites such as swimming, archery,
basketball, hiking, soccer etc.. that we can enjoy when we are not
studying, inshallah.
16) Is there a lake close to the camp?
Yes, Jenks lake is about 2 miles from the camp.
17) Until what time can I stay at the camp on Sunday, June
18th?
Inshallah we hope to vacate the camp by 6.00p.m on Sunday.
18) Can sisters attend without a mahram?
All sisters attending the camp MUST have their mahrams'
with them at the camp. Especially since there is travel involved
and also staying overnight.
